OK, 3.6% is not a major share of the overall desktop PC market, but it is growing each month. The majority of current users want to see about 5 to 10% of the market which would ensure better hardware support out of the box for Linux. By better support we mainly are looking at timing of driver modules for new devices such a printers, scanners, bluetooth updates, and so on. Currently it takes between 6 months to a year to develop those by the Linux Community.
